Director of IT (NIST / Defense required)

Kforce is currently seeking a Director of IT (NIST/Defense required) to join our amazing client in sunny Solana Beach, California (CA). Director level experience is required. Please see the responsibilities below.Responsibilities:
Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and/or internal clients and recommends technical solutions
Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions
Produces detailed time line for each IT system deployment and implements effective project control by monitoring the progress of IT systems and reporting the status; Engages and informs users on planned deployments
Develops annual IT budget to include, tech refresh cost, employee equipment issue cost, and new hardware/software acquisition
Participates on all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts
Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and contractors in the areas of systems design, modifications or troubleshooting
Maintain asset inventory that consists of all assets attached to internal network
Manages and maintain diagrams showing network architecture, connectivity, network segments, and devices
Oversees desktop support team with support ticketing tracking and evaluation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
Structures, leads, trains, and develops IT staff for maximum effectiveness, ensuring users/customers are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service
Ensures all policies/procedures fall in line with NIST 800.171/DFARS and applicable DOD regulations to include developing user training that meets required DOD Information Assurance awareness guidelines
Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance
Develops and maintains company Disaster Recovery Plan
Designs and manages company website and employee page
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field
More than 5 years of experience as a Director of IT or managing DOD IT teams is highly desired
Advanced knowledge in information security/cyber security, risk management, end-point and server technologies, network management/architecture, intrusion detection and prevention systems, vulnerability/pen testing management, and patch management systems
Knowledge of and experience implementing Department of Defense/Federal security regulations, standards, and processes including FISMA, FIPS, NIST, DFARS, and FedRAMP
Experience with Information Assurance concepts and processes from both the Commercial and Federal government sectors
Understanding of fundamental cloud computing concepts (Microsoft Azure, O365, VMware)
Able to participate in internal and external audits, and be the focal point for such audits
Knowledge of common regulatory controls, such as: NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, DFARS, etc.
Strong analytical, written and oral communication including strong presentation and negotiation skills in dealing with all levels of management, boards of directors and other regulatory agencies

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
