Vehicle Description This beautiful and collectible 1960 Morris Minor 1000 convertible is finished in white with a black soft top over a red interior.
The car is powered by a replacement 948cc A-series inline-four paired with a four-speed manual gearbox.
This Series III Minor is offered with a clean California title in the seller's name and current registration, and California Historical Plates.
The motor runs extremely well and the transmission shifts perfectly.
The exterior is white, and features include a black soft top with matching boot cover, chrome bumpers with overriders, exposed chrome hinges for the trunk and the hood, and fixed rear side windows.
I will note that a small inch and a half tear on the soft top was repaired with rubber cement by the prior owner.
The black 14 steel wheels wear Morris-branded chrome hubcaps, the tires are brand new.
The interior was refurbished under previous ownership with red seat upholstery, red door panels, and red carpeting.
Interior features include a banjo-style steering wheel, an under-dash-mounted heater, two in-dash storage compartments, and red door pulls.
A centrally-mounted 80-mph Smiths speedometer includes a built-in fuel-level gauge and warning lights for oil pressure and ignition, as well as a high beam indicator light.
The five-digit odometer shows just over 6k miles, approximately 3k of which were added by the seller, and true mileage is unknown.
An aftermarket water temperature gauge was installed under the dash panel.
The 948cc inline-four is equipped with a single SU carburetor and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission.
The engine was reconditioned in 1991 and sent to Bath, England, to have the service performed.
Books, all service records and history are included in the purchase.
Historically this is a very collectible vehicle and is supported by historical documentation such as the original purchase documents shown in the photos from 1959.
The previous owner purchased the vehicle from the California Vintage Automotive Museum in Sacramento CA and that documentation is also included in the sale.
$16,750.
